In LOVING Memory of

Deborah Hunt

“I am the master of my fate, the captain of my soul.”

On behalf of the Urban League of Hampton Roads, it is with great sadness to inform our Hampton Roads community of the passing of Deborah Hunt this past weekend. Deborah not only served as the President of the Urban League of Hampton Roads Guild since 2018, but more importantly, she was considered a dear friend to us all.

All who knew Deborah, saw she was a beacon of hope and strength who emulated her favorite quote “I am the master of my fate, the captain of my soul.” As the President and CEO of Hunt Homes of Virginia Realty, she loved to help families find their dream home and create a legacy for so many families. She was passionate about the mission of the National Urban League and our affiliate, Urban League of Hampton Road Inc. Her impeccable leadership and service was demonstrated in the Guild regularly being recognized for outstanding service by the National Urban League. Deborah’s death will leave a void in all our hearts and the countless lives she has positively impacted. As we enter into the Holiday Season, let us take a moment to rejoice and reflect on the precious memories we shared with Deborah, and remember all those we have lost this year.

Please join me and the entire Urban League family in soliciting prayers for Deborah’s family during this season.
