Education & Youth Development Initiatives
Our Education & Youth Development Initiatives are designed to support the educational and developmental needs of students and educators across the Hampton Roads community. By fostering educational growth, providing vital resources, and building connections between students, families, and educators, the EYD Initiatives work to create a brighter future for the entire community.
Teacher Re-Up
A supply drive to ensure that local educators have the tools and resources they need to continue making an impact in the classroom.
Teacher Re-Supply Drive on March 1, 2025
The Urban League of Hampton Roads is giving back to the incredible educators who shape our future! Join us for our Teacher Re-Supply Drive powered by Walmart, where teachers can stock up on free classroom supplies and connect with fellow educators. We know how much you give to your students—now it’s time for us to give back to YOU!
The general public can find details on how to support this event and more education initiatives here.

Back to School Block Party Sponsored by Walmart
This fun-filled event features free bookbag giveaways packed with school supplies, food trucks, a live DJ, vendors, community resources, games for kids, free haircuts, and face painting. Over the past three years, we have distributed over 2,000 bookbags to support students as they head back to school.
