The Urban League of Hampton Roads’ Health Team strives to balance advocacy with direct services that seek to remedy conditions and lifestyles that lead to poor health.

ULHR offers a variety of education and support services to address health issues increasingly impacting minority communities including Ryan White HIV/AIDS Case Management and Mental Health Wellness Referrals.

NEW HIV DIAGNOSES IN THE EASTERN REGION (HAMPTON ROADS) ARE AFRICAN AMERICANS.

  • The highest age range of New HIV Diagnoses in VA are ages 20-34
  • Out of all US states and providences, VA is ranked #10 for Cancer  sincident
  • In 2023 there have been 47,100 estimated new Cancer cases and estimated 15,800 deaths due to Cancer
  • 61.6% of the Health concern in Virginia is Behavioral/Mental Health (suicide, ADHD, anxiety, depression, etc)
